Trauma Support Services of North Texas (TSSNT) is an agency dedicated to providing low cost or no cost counseling to trauma survivors and their families. We partner with professional counselors in the community who are willing to accept one or more trauma victims as clients on a pro-bono basis. Clients can be seen in therapist's office or at one of several TSSNT field sites currently located across the southern sector of Tarrant and Dallas County.

Trauma Support Services of North Texas will provide participating volunteer therapists with FREE specialized training in working with trauma survivors and related subjects. The 2011  trainings will be posted on our website's calendar.  Each workshop is approx. 3 hours in length and there will be a total of 18 CEU credits (or more) annually for Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Social Workers.  In addition, TSSNT will provide ongoing support and case consultation with experts in the field of trauma.

For Volunteer Therapists, along with your online application, we require a copy of your resume (or a brief history of your education and experience),  license(s), and a copy of your current malpractice insurance.

In addition to the benefits for trauma survivors, TSSNT is very excited about networking professional counselors with one another. Connecting members of this essential helping community will provide an important and needed service while creating a forum for participants to receive specialized training to help them help others.
