Learning from the Leaders in
A 3-day trauma therapy intensive training
Sponsored by Trauma Care Institute,
a program of
Trauma Support Services of North Texas
Helping victims of trauma find the words to describe what has happened to them is profoundly meaningful, but it is usually not enough. The body also needs to learn that the danger has passed and how to live in the reality of the present. We may do significant harm to trauma clients if we propose brief, time-limited strategies – or see them in clinics where there is frequent therapist turnover. Trauma is our most urgent public health issue, and it demands a radical shift in our theoretical assumptions.

Optional evening session:
Mind-Body Psychotherapist, Jule Aguirre, will guide participants through a somatic Nia Moving to Heal session, facilitating an experience of “getting in” and being fully present in their bodies using the tools of breath, integrative movement, awareness, and paying attention to body sensation as a method to attain grounded embodiment in the now.
