From UTA Intern to TSSNT Staff
TSSNT Welcomes Two New Faces: Gretchen Ward & Amberly Prykhodko
TSSNT was fortunate to have two amazing interns join us from the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work Community & Administrative Practice (CAP) Program this past year.
Amberly Prykhodko came to TSSNT before her official placement with us this in January 2017. She volunteered with TSSNT in the fall to assist with TSSNT’s 10th Anniversary luncheon and fundraiser. We later had a short-term position open to assist the Director of TSSNT’s Trauma Care Institute, so Amberly applied for and was offered that position until the second semester and her student placement with us started. She did extensive work on that project by contacting law firms and other agencies for donation of food and refreshments for our first 3-day training conference for trauma therapists. When the second semester began and her status changed to “unpaid student,” she continued her work on the conference by assisting with details and tabulating the results of all the evaluations.
On April 21, 2017, the UTA School of Social Work Celebration of Excellence event was held and both of these ladies received awards. Gretchen Ward received the award for “MSW Outstanding Student: Advanced Field” and Amberly Prykhodko received two awards, the “Dean’s List – Graduating MSW Student with 4.0 Overall GPA” and “Satisfactorily Completing an MSW Thesis”. Gretchen and Amberly will be graduating on May 12, 2017.
As if all that isn’t enough excitement, Gretchen and Amberly were both offered positions to join the TSSNT family! Gretchen Ward joined our team on April 24, 2017 as our second Victim Advocate. Amberly Prykhodko will be joining TSSNT on June 1, 2017 as our Associate Training Director with our Trauma Care Institute.
We consider both ladies huge assets to our team! Congratulations to you both and welcome to TSSNT!
